Dear Sunday School Families,
God bless you for trusting the Religious Education of your children to our devoted Sunday School staff this past year. It is our great honor and blessing to raise up your young ones in our Orthodox Faith. We will never stop trying to fulfill our mission to make our Sunday School program the most spiritually fulfilling, enlightening, and enjoyable one we can. Also, we hope that you will always feel welcome to give us constructive feedback on every aspect of each Sunday School class- we are always open to suggestions! Therefore, to build upon the spiritual foundation we constructed for your family in 2025-2026, we encourage you, wherever and whenever possible, to attend the Divine Liturgy this summer, pray with your children at home and on the road, and give thanks to God for His many blessings. And, of course, we look forward to seeing you back at St. Luke's whenever you are home!
Although summer is a time for rest and relaxation, please keep in mind these few important updates and opportunities:
1. FOCUS Back-to-School Backpack Fundraiser
Our annual backpack fundraiser is right around the corner! In addition to fundraising, we plan to have a pizza party and backpack filling event after the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Dormition, Saturday, August 15, 2026. Stay tuned for more details arriving soon via email and the Sunday Bulletin
2. Sunday School Volunteers Needed
We are currently seeking assistant teachers as well as both short-term and long-term substitutes for Sunday School. We have several openings that need to be filled before the new school year begins. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Directors at stlukesundayschool@gmail.com.
3. 2026-2027 Registration Coming Soon
Registration for the upcoming Sunday School year will open soon. Online registration forms will be sent by email and be available on our website at: https://www.ss.st-luke.org.
Looking ahead — Save these September dates:
September 13: First day of classes, Agiasmos blessing, Open House, and Registration Sunday for all youth activities.
September 20: No classes (Greek Affair weekend).
September 27: Worship and Sunday School classes resume.
Father’s Day Celebration
On Sunday, June 21, two of our students, Panos Grinias and Vincent Lowe, beautifully honored the fathers of our community by reading Father’s Day poems following Divine Liturgy. We are so proud of them for representing our Sunday School and sharing their love and gratitude with our parish fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and uncles.
